With Halloween less than a week away, and fall parties coming into season, why not throw a party of your own? If you’re a theatre kid, what’s better than throwing a Broadway-themed bash? Here are my tips and tricks for throwing the spookiest Broadway-inspired celebration on your block.
Send Invitations Inspired by: The Addams Family
“Thing” might just be the IT factor in persuading friends to attend your party. The Addams Family is a family-friendly musical, and with these spooky invitations, you can “Pull” everyone right into your festivities! You can easily DIY these by buying fake fingers (or other body parts) from the dollar store, putting them in a small ring box, and tying it up with a ribbon. Don’t forget to include the date!

Serve Food Inspired by: Little Shop of Horrors
With Audrey II on the lookout for some more humans to munch on, why not satisfy her hunger with these blood-inspired cookies? For this easy DIY, you can simply cover Oreo cookies with melted white chocolate and (after waiting for them to dry) add some red frosting!

Throw In a Costume Theme Inspired by: The Phantom of the Opera
If you’re really going full-out, “dress rehearsal” and all, be sure to ask your guests to wear a mask for your very own “Masquerade“! The party will instantly be inspired by The Phantom of the Opera, and all of your guests will have an terrifyingly good time trying to guess who their friends are dressed as.

Looking for some more ideas? Other musicals you could use for inspiration are Carrie or Into the Woods.
No matter what kind of party you are throwing this fall, the creative design of Broadway shows can add to the value of any gathering.
Remember to have a safe and fun fall season, Camp Broadway!
