Kristine Bendul is thrilled to be returning with Camp Broadway in 2019. Kristine brings her her experience of seven Broadway shows. Aside from being nominated for a Helen Hayes award for Movin’ Out, other favorite theater credits include performing Live at Lincoln Center and five Broadway productions with the City Center Encores series. You may even recognize her from NBC’s Smash or most recently, the first episode of Baz Luhrman’s new Netflix show, The Get Down. She has performed at both the Tony’s and the Oscars with Hugh Jackman and Beyonce and holds two First Place ProCabaret titles, one with The International Hustle & Salsa Congress and the other with Bill Cameron’s Swing Dance Championships. Her ballet experience includes being one of the selected company members of NJ Ballet to tour alongside with New York City Ballet to Russia and Taiwan. As a choreographer, Kristine has been creating works for Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS’ highly profiled annual events the Easter Bonnet and Broadway Bares Fire Island. She has choreographed for immersive theater, musical showcases, a music video and the International Hustle & Salsa Congress. She was asked back a second time to premiere a new piece for The Actor’s Fund benefit Dancers For Good hosted by Bebe Newirth. Her newest achievement however, is as a published children’s book author & illustrator of Noodles Needs A Nap which was inspired by a character she played in Broadway’s Cinderella in which she was the assistant choreographer and partnering consultant. Kyle Craig-Bogard

Kyle Craig-Bogard’s Broadway and NYC performance credits span national and regionally, such as a national tour of Guys and Dolls and On the Town, among others. She’s the Associate Director/choreographer for two original productions that premiered on Celebrity Cruise Line’s ship, the Constellation, for its inaugural cruise. At Maine State Music Theatre Kyle has choreographed productions of Footloose and Titanic and a production of Sweet Charity. For the Lamb’s Theatre Company, she directed and choreographed a children’s theatre production tour of Children’s Letters to God. As a teacher, Kyle has trained dancers in New York City at Broadway Dance Center, New Dance Group Arts Center and CAP21, as well as other studios across the country and in Europe. Kyle was a guest faculty teacher at Stephens College for their Summer Dance Intensive Program, served as an instructor at the University of Washington for two years, and has also led Musical Theatre discussion panels at several Universities. Kyle holds a BA in Musical Theatre from Baldwin-Wallace College, and received her MFA in dance from the University of Washington.

Joshua Holden an award-winning international puppeteer, actor, and joy-maker based in Brooklyn, was named one of “20 Theatre workers You hold Know” by American Theatre Magazine. He was on the Broadway national tour of AVENUE Q, the Lead Puppeteer in Peter Pan 360 (ThreeSixty Entertainment), and garnered an Arts Impulse award  as well as an IRNE nomination for “Best Actor In a Musical” as Bill Snibson in Me & My Girl (Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston). He worked with international artist Banksy on his controversial piece Sirens of the Lambs. His one-man show, The Joshua Show, was awarded “Best Performance” and was voted “Audience Favorite” at the 2013 Puppeteers of America’s National Festival. The Joshua Show inspires audiences to be themselves and help make the world a better place through kindness and love. Anna Raful has grown from one of Camp Broadway’s teaching assistants to a featured teaching artist for our signature camp in New York City and on tour. Anna graduated from Emerson College with a BFA in Musical Theatre, and spends her time appearing in shows in throughout New York, New Jersey and in Ogunquit, ME. Her most recent roles include: Sonia in Godspell, Sister Hubert in Nunsense, Peppermint Patty in Snoopy and Anne Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank.

Michelle Robinson

Michelle Robinson

Director / Choreographer

Michelle M. Robinson, a native of New York, is an accomplished dancer, actress, and choreographer. As a dancer, she began her training at The Dance Theatre of Harlem. As early as her pre-teens she became a member of the Marie Brooks Children’s Dance Theater, a professional children’s dance company devoted to researching dance forms from other countries. She has had the opportunity to travel to such places as Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad, Martinique, Suriname, Ghana, Italy, and Brazil. The recipient of the coveted Harry Belafonte Performing Arts Scholarship, she went on to attend the State University of New York at Purchase where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. After graduation, her talents were sought after by many prestigious dance companies: Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, The Bucket Dance Theater, The Dance Theatre of Harlem and The Eleo Pomare Dance Company. But that was only until Michelle set her sights on Broadway.

From Europe to Broadway, Ms. Robinson’s musical theater credit include: Ain’t Misbehavin’, Can-Can, For Colored Girls…, Jelly’s Last Jam, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Sophisticated Ladies, They’re Playing Our Song, Sweet Charity, The Tempest, and the smash Broadway musical revival, Chicago. She has had the opportunity to work alongside notables as Bebe Neuwirth, Gregory Hines, Patrick Stewart, Joel Grey, Debbie Allen, Melanie Griffith, and Brooke Shields, just to name a few. However, Ms. Robinson admits that one of her most memorable show biz moments was becoming a Radio City Rockette. She acknowledges that nothing gave her as much joy and pleasure as when she heard her mother say, “No matter where my child is on that kick line, I will be able to find her!” No stranger to film and television, her television credits include appearances on Deadline, Law and Order, New York Undercover, Third Watch, and HBO’s Lackawanna Blues. Ms. Robinson has also had a long running, recurring role on the daytime soap opera, One Life to Live. On film, she can be seen in Spike Lee’s Malcolm X, Flawless starring Robert DeNiro.

Cindy Thole is a veteran of the Broadway stage, working with theatre legends; Agnes DeMille, Twyla Tharp, Susan Stroman, Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents, Ernie Flatt, and Mike Ockrent.  Broadway performance credits include: Me and My Girl, Singin’ in the Rain, 42nd Street, My Fair Lady, Nick & Nora, Meet Me in St. Louis, and A Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden. National tour: 42nd Street, Oklahoma!, and Sugar Babies and the movie version of The Producers. Direction/Choreography credits include: Theater Under the Stars, Reagle Music Theater, Theatreworks USA, Two Beans Productions, Allenberry Playhouse, Mill Mountain Theatre, City College, Penn State University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, City Center Education programming, and Camp Broadway. Currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Musical Theater at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Cynthia also teaches in the dance department at Montclair State University. Cindy is a member of Actors Equity, SAG, and SDC and holds a B.A. in Dance from Butler University.

Correy West is a native of Dallas Texas and attended Northwestern State University where he pursued his Degree in Theatre Arts. He has extensive experience teaching children of all ages as well as adults. He has worked with Camp Broadway in many different capacities such as performing/teaching as a Leading Player, teaching Master Classes as a Broadway Performer as well as leading Acting, Improv, and Dance classes for the company. He was recently performing in the US Premiere of the National Tour of “Love Never Dies” and taught Master Classes all over the country. He has done the same with shows such as “Anything Goes” and “42nd Street” on tour as well as “South Pacific” and “Nice Work If YouCan Get It” on Broadway. Theo Lencicki, originally from Scranton, PA, received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Dance from Penn State University. He has performed in regional theatres across the country as well as four national Broadway tours including Hairspray, A Chorus Line, Young Frankenstein and most recently West Side Story playing the role of Riff. In addition to performing, Theo has directed and choreographed at both collegiate and high school levels,  is a certified resident artist in various school districts and is a member of the faculty for the summer institute Arts Alive. He has worked on several workshops and projects with the Camp Broadway team and is excited to be back for more!

Kristin Eley

Kristin Eley is a music director, teacher, performer, and songwriter from Orlando, Florida. She graduated from the University of Central Florida’s Burnett Honors College with a degree in music education, and taught public school music for three years before moving to the Big Apple to pursue performance and directing. She most recently music directed the United Nations International School junior production of Singin’ In the Rain, and is also on staff with the New York Pops Teaching Program. Other credits include Honeydipped Apocalypse Girls (Kraine Theater), Aristocats, Punslingers: A Wordplay Musical (co-composer), Cinderella, Dumpster Cats, The Merry Wives of Windsor, and Monteverdi’s 1610 Verpers (featured soloist with the Orlando Philharmonic). Kristin is a proud founding member of the all-female choral group, Helena Collective.

Sean Mayes

As a Canadian music director holding experience in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, Sean brings a wealth of experience to the musical theatre scene as both a musical director, conductor, arranger, orchestrator and performer.

Sean holds a Masters in Music Direction from the University of Surrey in England, graduating with Honours with Distinction from the Guildford School of Acting, one of the top respected conservatories in the United Kingdom.

Sean’s UK experience has included work with music team of the UK Tour of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Sean was also music director/supervisor and dramaturg on the creation of a one-hour musical adaptation of the recent West End musical, LOSERVILLE, in collaboration with the authors and licensors.

As an arranger & orchestrator, Sean’s work has been played by and written for some of the top Pops Orchestras and musical theatre performers in North America.

Sean works between New York and Toronto, and is a frequently sought out accompanist & conductor for numerous musical theatre performances & performers in both countries.

Private study in conducting in musical theatre has included study with Jeffrey Huard, conductor of Kiss of the Spider Woman on Broadway.

Zander Meisner

This is Zander’s third year with Camp Broadway Shining Stars. Zander teaches privately in programs like Camp Broadway, and classrooms for over a decade. With degrees from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, and most recently receiving his Masters in Music Education with certification from NYU, he have been performing in musicals as an actor and musician for 20 years, and was profiled in the Wall Street Journal as an actor and multi-instrumentalist. Bill Newberry is a music director, teacher, performer and composer/arranger from Atlanta, Georgia. National Tours: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (three different ones!), Annie (four different ones!), Les Miserables, The King and I, The Sound of Music, High School Musical I and II, and more. Regional music directing productions: Hello Dolly!, Joseph…Dreamcoat, Peter Pan (Atlanta Lyric Theatre), Violet, Once Upon a Mattress, My Fair Lady, Murder Ballad, Once on This Island, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, See What I Wanna See, Oklahoma!, End of the Rainbow (Actor’s Express), Camelot, Tuck Everlasting (Alliance Theatre), Curtains (Act 3 Productions). Bill has taught privately for many years, was the music director for the Fox Theatre’s Rising Stars Summer Musical Theatre Intensive, and is the resident music director for the Atlanta Lyric Theatre’s Education Programs. Bill studied at Florida State and Georgia State University. He has worked with Chita Rivera on the world premiere of Casper, the Musical. He has been a vocal coach for Diana Degarmo (American Idol Season 3 runner-up), and 4 other artists who made it to Hollywood Week.

Chelsea is thrilled to be back doing her fourth season with Camp Broadway! She truly enjoys working with the wonderful staff and kids, and spreading her joy of musical theater. She graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in  Musical Theater in 2013 and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Chelsea has performed in many shows, including the role of Poquito Tito in the National Tour of Skippy Jon Jones with Theaterworks USA. Another one of her favorite roles was portraying Anita in West Side Story with the Atlanta Lyric Theater. Other roles include Edwin Drood in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Belle in Beauty and the Beast. She is looking forward to a great summer with Camp Broadway.

Alexandra is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College where she received her B.A. in Theater Performance/Musical Theater. Teachers include: Patricia Simon, Christine Riley, Jeff Shade, Ed Kresley. Alexandra has worked as a camp counselor for 4 years teaching everything from soccer to theater to sailing; she was in a production of the musical Rags directed by Barbara Siman-Strouse, and did a workshop of a musical short written by Sara Wordsworth & Russ Kaplan

Justin Choi is so excited to be joining Camp Broadway this summer! Matt Dengler is so happy to be joining The Shining Stars this summer! He has appeared on Broadway in A Little Night Music (Henrik us) and The Visit staring Chita Rivera and Off-Broadway in Avenue Q (Princeton/Rod), Harold and Maude (Harold) at The York, The Fantasticks (The Mute/Matt) and The Underclassman (F. Scott Fitzgerald) as well as many others. Matt got his BFA in Musical Theatre from Tisch at NYU. He has taught theater programs for kids ages 2 and up through Child’s Play NY, one of NYC’s most reputable theater programs for kids in NYC. The company offers classes and productions based on play, everything from Shakespeare to Hamilton, that boost confidence, courage and compassion. He has also taught collegiate masterclasses on musical theatre at The University of Memphis and Emory & Henry College in Virginia. Didi Gomez hails from Buenos Aires, Argentina where she performed professionally as a singer, actress and dancer in different musicals, as well as private events. Some of her favourite credits include: Ensemble in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ (with Geronimo Rauch as ‘Jesus’), Martha in ‘Spring Awakening’, BJ Crosby in ‘Smokey Joe’s Cafe’, Joanne in ‘Rent’, Abuela Claudia in ‘In The Heights’. She moved to New York City to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, to further her studies as a musical theatre actress. Upon graduation in 2012, Didi was featured in the documentary ‘Broadway Dreams’, with the famous Japanese pop group ‘AKB48’, which was released in Japan. She has done various workshops and readings of new material ever since, and had the honor to be directed by Bob Cline, in ‘Evita’, where she played the role of Eva Peron in 2013. Didi is honored to have spent the past 3 years working with the Drama Desk Award winning company Camp Broadway, where she teaches and performs. And is also very excited to be a new member of Inside Broadway, where she will be teaching musical theater to kids all around the 5 boroughs.
