AT THIS STAGE is a series of theatre-themed, live-streamed digital workshops for 5-12 schools and certified homeschools.
What is AT THIS STAGE?
How do educators participate in the program?
Teachers must be a part of a participating Venue Partner in their area.
Is there a fee to participate?
There is no fee for the schools, teachers, or students. Venue Partners purchase a subscriptions to the program providing access to theaters, schools, and certified homeschool households in their area.
How do educators gain access to the workshops?
Educators will receive an invitation from their participating Venue Partner to Enroll. Once enrolled, teachers will be invited to a private online portal, where they will be able to choose the sessions in which they’d like to participate and access support materials for each session. A link will then be sent by email to each session which can be used to join with their classroom.
Are lesson plans available?
Yes. Each session comes with a lesson plan with workshop overview that includes background on the speaker, a lesson plan tied into the production, and a student worksheet which includes an activity that ties back to the productions or featured guest. A certificate of completion will also be available.
What are the themes of the sessions and how are they chose?
AT THIS STAGE produces educational workshop series with content authorized by Broadway shows, authors, and nationally recognized performing arts organizations. Session content (1) features themes that showcase touring show, (2) addresses required core-curriculum educational themes for middle and high schools, and (3) curates sessions that directly focus on issues of diversity and inclusions, social and emotional learning, and life skills.
Are session themes connected to core curriculum standards?
Yes. AT THIS STAGE theatre arts content will be aligned to the core standards that are required by law in ten subject areas of “content strands” including Behavioral Studies, Careers, Character Education, Language Arts, History, Life Skills, Music, Science/Technology/Math, Social Studies, and The Arts.
Will students be able to ask questions and interact with artists in the live-stream sessions?
Yes. The chat and Q&A will be managed by a Camp Broadway Moderator.
When do the sessions occur?
Sessions are currently scheduled on select Thursdays 12:30 pm – 1:15 pm EST.
How long are the sessions?
Each AT THIS STAGE digital workshop adheres with ed-tech specifications of 35 minutes and is ideal for a teacher to assimilate into a 40-min class.
What platform is used to host the live-streamed sessions?
The sessions use Zoom as the live-streamed host.
What if my school doesn't allow Zoom in the classroom or for remote/hybrid learning?
All sessions are also recorded and available in an online library throughout the academic year.
Are there online safety measures in place?
Yes. The AT THIS STAGE Team is committed to a safe environment for our participants in all our programs – adults and children. All sessions have a monitor who makes sure the content is appropriate and manages the chat and Q&A features of the session.
